Accessibility statement
People reach this site in a crisis. It has to work on a cracked phone screen, over a slow connection, and with a screen reader.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we do
- Semantic headings, landmarks and lists on every page
- A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element
- Visible focus outlines on all interactive elements
- Color contrast that meets or exceeds AA for text
- Accessible names on the phone links, read digit by digit
- Full keyboard operation, including the navigation menus
- Reduced-motion support for people who prefer it
- Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling on small screens
Known limits
Official government pages we link to are operated by those agencies and are outside our control.
